I am Tomoko / Tomoko dw i.
My name is Tomoko. I am a Birth and Postnatal Doula.
I currently live near Aberaeron after living in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Bangkok in Thailand and England.
I am from Japan and have a husband from England and 3 boys from 10 to 16 years old.
With my eldest, I had an empowering home birth thanks to lovely community midwives, a doula and my partner and family. I will never forget when we all shared the calm and magical moment of birth.
My middle and youngest sons were born at the midwifery led unit in a local hospital. These were also lovely birth experiences thanks to all the support I was given.
I truly believe it is most important that each mother and birthing person make their own choice as it is YOUR Birth Journey.
As I was given warm and kind support through my journey, it is now my turn to dedicate myself to support mothers-to-be, mothers, birthing people and families to have well-supported, warm birth experiences and beyond, whatever their choices are.
My role as a doula is to support you to stand beside you in your choices inside or outside of guidance.
I see you as the unique individual you are — irrespective of, but not limited to, your race, ethnicity, language, cultural background, religion or gender identity.
My role is to be fully present, without judgment, so that you feel safely seen, heard and supported.
I love being a mother of my 3 wonderful children (and a dog) - we laugh, cry and, of course, sometimes have challenges as well. I do love spending those colourful and precious moments with them.
I also love walking in nature, swimming in the sea, singing, growing food in our garden and nurturing my creativity.
